  • EXPOSURE: New Voices in Western Australian Photography is a new initiative developed by Yamatji, Nyoongar curator Glenn Iseger-Pilkington and The Perth Centre for Photography (PCP), which aims to provide skills development, mentoring, professional opportunities and network development for emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander photographers and film makers from Western Australia, with a specific focus on artists from regional and remote communities.

This new initiative has been designed to address the increasing number of Aboriginal artists from regional and remote communities in WA who are using photography as an important artistic medium to express their identities and cultures. The work emerging from these artists is dynamic, challenging and reflects a unique Indigenous experience.

The project’s long-term vision comprises 3 phases, skills development, mentoring, and exhibition. PCP’s aim is to provide a platform for these artists to build their artistic and professional skills through to sharing their stories, experiences and cultures.

The project will commence in March 2018. Project participants are yet to be announced.
