Tamala Karst IV
By Ché Parker
Artist Bio
Ché' is a photographic artist whose work explores the natural environment and our place within it. He is interested in what landscapes carry; how they impress upon us and we impress upon them. More recently his creative practice has been shaped by his time in the field working as a botanist & ecologist and reflects his own grappling with the dissonance between the striving for scientific exactitude and the subjectivity of working intimately in the field with people and place.
Artist Statement / Description of artwork
This image forms part of an ongoing study into the Tamala Limestone — the karst topography that punctuates Perth’s coastal fringe and its offshore islands; a soluble, malleable sedimentary stone born of - and forever wrought by - wind and water.
