Since 1992, PCP has championed emerging and established photographic artists in WA, across Australia, and internationally. Our exhibitions spark dialogue on urgent social, environmental, and cultural issues while setting a benchmark for contemporary photography.
Beyond exhibitions, PCP delivers talks, unique awards, and a growing mentorship program that supports photographers across Western Australia.
In 2024, PCP made the deliberate decision to leave our CBD base, freeing resources to ensure fair pay for artists and arts workers, while investigating a new model for the future.
In the meantime, PCP will extend its reach across the state by partnering with professional galleries, culturally aligned organisations, sponsors and partners; continuing our legacy of programs that champion and support photographic art practitioners.
As a nonprofit charity, PCP will continue to seek a fair, long-term lease that reflects our cultural contribution to WA and is free from current pop-up/short-term commercial terms that undermine meaningful planning and sustainability in the arts.
