The IRIS Award focuses on compelling portraiture, where nuanced details, raw emotions, and personal connections are foregrounded. It seeks to capture the essence of human relationships, emotions, and experiences, whether love, joy, dissociation, disconnection, desire, or other.
By exploring these emotional landscapes, the exhibition aims to engage both the personal and universal dimensions of the human experience, encouraging audiences to reflect on the subtle yet profound ways we connect and disconnect with one another and our environment.
The Award invites deep engagement with the intricate layers of human sentiment, creating space for contemplation and dialogue on the multifaceted nature of intimacy in contemporary life through photographic portraiture.
All artists working with new and traditional forms of photography are invited to challenge, redefine, and expand the possibilities of portraiture.
