Artist Statement / Description of artwork
A shopping trolley, 8 metres deep in the sea. Unbeknownst to anyone on the surface, the trolley sits on the ocean floor, out of sight, a hidden burden. Photographed while freediving around Perth waters, this scene became symbolic of the rising cost of living in our current society. People are struggling. This picture depicts the financial pressures people are facing and the feeling of drowning in debt.
