Artist Bio
Kate Hulett is a Western Australian film photographer, artist, business owner, and creative producer. Her work is interested in the surprising amongst the mundane. With a deep curiosity in people, humanity and the frivolity of life (Hulett holds a BPsych), her works often feature irony, wit and humour to soften and connect with the viewer. She has a keen interest in environmental and social justice, and generating a sense of pride and connection within the community. Her work orientates around the bigger picture, and investigates actions that will improve our lived environment in the hope to inform a brighter future.
Artist Statement / Description of artwork
Taken at the northern edge of the world's longest city, the only sign of life in this desolate 'Great Australian Dream' suburb is an electronic flashing sign for a frozen American icon. Taken on 35mm film.
