Artist Bio
Laura is an emerging theatre-making in her final year of WAAPA’s Bachelor of Performing Arts program; contributing to TILT as a writer, performer, director and AV designer. Alongside BPA, Laura has spent 2024 engaged in ATYP’s Fresh Ink and National Studio playwriting programs, as well as WAYTCo’s 24Hr Play Generator and 'Made In Boorloo'. She is drawn to storytelling across multiple genres and disciplines - including film and photography. She has created and performed in multiple short ads for Luna Leederville, and loves to shoot on Ultra max.
Artist Statement / Description of artwork
During a visit to Paris in May, the artist captured the distinct character of the city and its people. Observing locals smoking cigarettes in the park with an assured sense of identity, the artist was drawn to the unique atmosphere and felt a connection to the place and its people. This work reflects the artist's appreciation for Paris’s unapologetic sense of self.
