Artist Statement / Description of artwork

From the body of work 'Dark Energy', which investigates the invisible, but felt, forces of interconnectedness and energy between us, the earthly natural world and the celestial. It explores the dynamic tension between the known and the perhaps unknowable, between obscurity and revelation, and the magic elixirs of light and time, matter and energy – evoking notions of expansion and possibility. This photograph was taken just outside of Canberra in the early hours of 11 October 2024 during an intense geomagnetic storm.
