Darcy Cronin is a WA based artist/photographer whose work focuses on the world around us that usually goes unnoticed. Primarily using film photography and printmaking techniques he captures a feeling of wonder and intrigue in the natural and man made world we live in.
Artist Statement / Description of artwork
In In The Fog, the artist captures a translucent figure on a suburban street enveloped in heavy fog. The image reflects the artist’s exploration of the mind’s response to uncertainty, with the fog symbolising life’s unknowns and the figure embodying the mystery within it. Through this work, the artist conveys humanity’s instinct to seek meaning, often confronting fear and the temptation of easier paths—choices that may sacrifice deeper fulfilment in life.
