Artist Statement / Description of artwork
Something is appetizing about this faded plastic, like candy left out in the sun. In today’s playground, all bright high-density plastic still holds up in its worn-out way. As the colors dull and the pieces rust, the nostalgia just gets sharper, like they were built to age with us. Looking at this, I get this urge to reach out, feel the texture, take a bite out of the cake-like PVC, and remember what it was like to run and slide without a thought in the world, back when that was all there was'
