Artist Statement / Description of artwork
Solitude explores isolation and depersonalisation, portraying cities as “non-places” stripped of identity, where our relationship with them is purely transactional. As individualism clashes with our need for connection, cities become shallow, profit-driven spaces, leaving many in contemporary Australia with a profound sense of loneliness and alienation.
