Tony Clark is one of Australia’s most respected artists. For over 40 years his uniquely styled paintings have been testing the boundaries between arts genres and disciplines whilst borrowing from the histories of art, architecture and theatre design along the way. He has oft lived and worked in Italy and Germany and is now residing back in Australia. This portrait was made at his tin shed studio in Mission Beach far north Queensland whilst he worked on the paintings for his massive new retrospective exhibition “Unsculpted”. Always a prolific artist, the exhibition consists of over a hundred works spanning a forty year period and ran at the University of Melbourne Buxton Contemporary from November 2024 till June 2025.
Born in London, now long based in Australia's northern tropical city of Cairns, Brian Cassey is an experienced freelance photographer / photojournalist. For several decades Brian has been working for numerous Australian and International media principally covering news, features and sport around the planet. His work has included conflict, natural disasters, hard news, politics, social issues and more. Brian’s work has evolved over time and the changing demands of the media industry and he has now developed a further niche in the discipline of photographic portraiture. His portrait images have been recognised and featured in galleries, exhibitions and awards around the World. Brian has been a PCP ‘IRIS Award’ finalist in the last three editions (2019, 2021 and 2023).
