Bio

A passionate photographer, Ed's vision is to capture silent, still moments. His work uses form, colour, and shadow to explore what he calls "the waiting room": the liminal, in-between spaces of modern life. He is inspired by artists like Jeffry Smart, Trent Parke, Jesse Marlow, and Saul Lieter

Statement

This photograph is a direct exploration of the "waiting room" concept that drives my work. It’s a study of layered realities, where the mundane and the spectacular are forced to coexist in a single, unsettling frame.

The image is built on reflections. The fiery, apocalyptic sunset—a 'chemical fire' in the sky—is not present in the scene itself, but is a transient moment captured on the glass facade of the building. This reflection is then superimposed onto the physical world below: a construction site, the quintessential liminal space. This site is a place of becoming, not yet finished, existing in a state of suspended progress waiting for completion.
