Bio
Air Bare was created in 2020 when it bought its first drone and took to the skies of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland, Australia. They are the mother/daughter team of Sarah and Lucy Jenkins who originated from Perth, Western Australia and where Sarah currently resides. 
 
Lucy studied architecture at the University of Melbourne and in 2022 was awarded the Bates Smart Medal Graduate Prize for Outstanding Design for her thesis 'Service Disruption'. She now works with world-renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners in London. Sarah is an artist in the acrylic medium, finding inspiration from everyday life. They both share a passion for art, architecture, design, and photography and took the opportunity of briefly living together during the pandemic to apply their creativity.  Together they draw on each other’s strengths to develop ideas to create and execute interesting perspectives and unique images from above, using drone technology.
 
Statement 
This is Tess. Tess is a marine scientist currently studying for her PhD at the University of Western Australia. During this year we managed to gather the family and some friends for an unforgettable sailing holiday in Italy off the coast of Naples. The ocean is where Tess is most comfortable, and whenever she can she is in it. It’s her happy place, her comfort zone, her home. This image was taken with the drone in portrait mode as she kicked off underwater. With no trick photography intended, the image of her body was other-worldly and alien -like (although she does have remarkably long fingers and toes)! The incredible clarity and colour of the water made it that more special. This is a celebration of all those who love the ocean and everything it offers with that first dive. Maybe there will be more underwater aliens to discover!
