At first glance, this might look like a portrait of a farming family and their flock, but look closer and you’ll see a quiet defiance. This image was taken at Allington Family Farm, a pasture raised, family run operation in regional Western Australia. I arrived expecting golden light and easy moments. Instead, I found mud caked boots, fog covered paddocks, and a family already hours into their day before sunrise.
Twelve paddocks, rotating flocks, caravans turned mobile shelters. Every decision on this farm is intentional. The Allingtons are part of a growing movement, regenerative farming that works with nature, not against it. Every element moves to give back to the land and ensure the welfare of the animals.
In this photo, you see Trav, Zoe, and their kids standing firmly in the field, surrounded by some of the very animals they care for. It is not a posed portrait. It is a statement. When I asked Trav why they do it, he simply said, “The food system is broken.”
This photograph is about more than farming. It is about purpose, resistance, and the belief that a better way is not only possible, it is already happening.
Adam is a fine art photographer interested in feeling, intuition, and the quiet stories we carry. His work often begins with a sense rather than a concept, something not always easy to explain but impossible to ignore. He’s drawn to the in-between: softness and resistance, presence and absence, what’s visible and what sits just beneath the surface.
Alongside his fine art practice, Adam creates portraits that are slow, intentional, and grounded in real connection. His sessions are guided by curiosity rather than control, allowing space for people to show up as they are. Across both personal and commissioned work, Adam’s focus remains the same. He aims to make honest images that feel lived in, thoughtful, and quietly human.
