Bio
Patrick Marlborough is an underemployed critically acclaimed novelist, comedian, and freelance writer living with their parents in Walyalup, Western Australia. They have been published in Vice, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, Slate, Gawker, Meanjin, Crikey, Kotaku, The Lifted Brow, Kill Your Darlings, Cordite, Going Down Swinging, Overland, and more. Their debut novel, NOCK LOOSE, was released in 2025. They are the founder and editor of The Yeah Nah Review, as well as Wharf Rat Press, and co-host of The Battler.
 
Statement
Taken at the national jousting tournament at Kryal Castle. My debut novel NOCK LOOSE is about a hyper-violent medieval fair hosted in a fictional small town in WA's South West. I was sent to the jousting tournament to cover it by The Guardian. This is one of the knights between tilts.
