Bio
Sherry Quiambao is an Australian multidisciplinary artist of Filipina heritage, based in Boorloo/Perth. Working across photography, video, sculpture, and installation, her practice explores memory, cultural heritage, and the ways material culture and everyday objects shape belonging and self-image. Her work has been exhibited across Australia, the Philippines, Japan, and the United States, with notable exhibitions including de-centre re-centre (Perth Festival 2025, LWAG x PCP) and Veiled in a Golden Hue (Goolugatup Heathcote). She was a finalist and the First Time Finalist Award winner at the National Photographic Portrait Prize (2025). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture from Curtin University, with postgraduate studies in heritage and education.
Statement
A moment held together by colour and texture, something familiar, almost tender. I’m drawn to the way ordinary things lean toward stillness, how they hold both care and tension at once.
