The Park brings together new work from Toni Wilkinson, which enacts a counter narrative to the ‘candy land’ picture postcard vision of Perth that is usually generated from the lookouts of Western Australia’s Kings Park. In this cinematic series Wilkinson wrestles with the uncomfortable dynamics that undercut any sophisticated city and reveals a throbbing darkness based on a ‘lurid mash of racial power and libidinal reality’ which agitates the edges of the park itself.
