Artist Statement

Walking through the street of Victoria Park, WA and this scene caught my eye. I assume it was not unique to that afternoon.

Artist Bio

David has always had an interest in photography, and since retiring, that interest has grown. He now lives in the inner city area and enjoys the opportunity to wander around Perth with his camera. During the walks, he is able to apply his photographic skills to a variety of styles which include landscape, street photography, street art, architecture and flora and he has a diverse folio of images.

Having worked in the Pilbara for many years, David has a bias for landscape photography and has taken many images depicting the diversity and beauty of that wonderful landscape, its strong colours, sunrises, and sunsets. During his time in the Pilbara David was able to travel extensively throughout the area and spent many hours photographing from both the ground and helicopters.

David also enjoys street photography. He believes that street photography can be challenging, but it does provide the opportunity to photograph a moment in time totally unscripted, and he frequently translates that work into black-and-white images.
